Meet Jared:
Hey there! My name is Jared Chontos. I’ve been playing drums for 20 years, and working as a drum educator since 2017. Growing up, I cut my teeth by drumming in church every Sunday, and taking private lessons every single week. In 2016, I graduated with a B.A. in Commercial Music from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. Additionally, I was the 2X Nashville Store Guitar Center Drum-Off champ, and even advanced to the Quarter Finals in 2015 (top 30 in the nation).
I like to spend my free time hanging out with family and friends. My hobby outside of drums is lifting weights/exercising, and my favorite burger is In-N-Out!

Why the Breakout Drum Course?
I started the Breakout Drum Course in 2023 in an attempt to reach more people who want to learn drums. Here’s the quick story:
I've been drumming for 20 years, and for the last 7 years I've been working as a private drum instructor. What began as just a part-time job with a handful of students has now become my full-time gig. I am super grateful and realize it is a HUGE blessing to teach drums for a living. I mean, who gets to do that?? Really! It is so special, and I LOVE my job.
But there’s one thing I hate about this job. :(
I hate turning people down for private lessons. Let’s face it. Private music lessons are expensive, and there’s no getting around that. There’s also a limit to how many students I can physically teach in a given week. Whether it’s a financial issue or a scheduling conflict, I inevitably have to say “no” to potential drum students. This makes me incredibly sad because I love drumming, and I want everyone to experience how thrilling and fun it is.

Q: How Long Does It Take to Complete the Breakout Drum Course?
A: The course is thirty weeks long, with an accompanying Live Stream Lesson and homework assignment for each week. Students should expect to practice 2.5-3 hours per week to complete their assignments (approx. 30 minutes per day).
Q: I’m a Beginner. Is This Membership Suitable for Me?
A: Yes! My membership is for all ages and skill levels. There is no previous drum experience required.
Q: Do I Need any Fancy Equipment to Attend the Zoom Lessons?
A: No. You just need a standard Zoom account. Before each lesson, you will receive an email reminder containing the Zoom video call information as well as a pdf. of the lesson material.
Q: What if I Want to Cancel my Membership?
